Title: Research Associate Professor
Affiliation: Michigan Technological University
Focus Area: Forest Ecology and Management, Soil Biogeochemistry, Carbon Cycling
Email: lenave@mtu.edu
Luke leads and participates in collaborative research projects to better understand how ecosystems work. His research, which is a mix of pure and applied science, mostly focuses on the carbon cycle, and on the constraints that influence how carbon moves through forests- such as soil properties, biogeochemical cycling, disturbances, climate change, and management. Luke is also consistently involved in work to help landowners and forest managers apply science to their needs in the realm of ecosystem management and climate adaptation.
