Stephen Handler is the Acting Deputy Director of the Northern Forests Climate Hub (NFCH) and the Northern Institute of Applied Climate Science (NIACS). In this role, Stephen supports the operations of NFCH and helps coordinate the NIACS partnership. As part of a diverse and active team, he has led the publication of multiple ecosystem vulnerability assessments, provided technical assistance to diverse land managers on climate change adaptation, and delivered dozens of trainings and workshops. Stephen has helped expand the focus of the NFCH and NIACS to address tribal values, wildlife management, forest certification, and harvest operations. Stephen has worked for NIACS since 2011.
